Assistant Principal

Mr. Jarett Benson 

Mr. Benson is proud to serve as the assistant principal at Galloway Elementary School for the 2025-2026 school year. Mr. Benson brings 9 years of educational experience to his leadership position. He began his educational career as an assistant teacher while studying at Jackson State University.  He received a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Jackson State University. After graduation, Mr. Benson joined Jackson Public Schools as an elementary math and science teacher at George Elementary School and later at Walton Elementary School. As a classroom teacher, Mr. Benson was recognized by Ask for More Arts as an Outstanding Educator in 2020. 

Mr. Benson earned a Master of Science in educational leadership from Mississippi College. He began his career in leadership as the lead teacher and coach at Galloway Elementary School. He has also served as assistant principal at Pecan Park Elementary and Walton Elementary. 

A product of Jackson Public Schools, Mr. Benson is a graduate of Lanier High School. He is a devoted educator with a heart and passion for his community. Mr. Benson believes that investing in a child's education is the key to transforming lives and communities.
