Mrs. Natasha S. Simmons
Jackson Public Schools appointed Natasha S. Simmons to lead Galloway Elementary School as its new principal for the 2025-2026 school year. A dedicated and accomplished educator, Ms. Simmons brings over a decade of experience in education, with a strong background in instructional leadership, curriculum development, and driving student achievement.
Ms. Simmons most recently served as an elementary school principal, where she oversaw the academic and administrative operations of a PK–5 campus. Under her leadership, the school achieved a remarkable increase of more than 35% in student achievement across multiple subject areas. Her leadership style is defined by collaboration, strategic data use, and a commitment to building inclusive, student-centered learning environments.
Before stepping into her role as principal, Ms. Simmons worked as a curriculum coordinator with a focus on mathematics, where she developed K–12 curriculum frameworks, led district-wide professional development, and worked to address gaps in instruction and resources. She also brings several years of classroom teaching experience in math and science, where she consistently demonstrated her ability to elevate student performance.
Ms. Simmons holds two master’s degrees from the University of West Alabama and a bachelor’s degree from Delta State University. She is widely respected for her leadership, forward-thinking approach, and passion for educational excellence.
